Marc Brutten is founder and Chairman of Brixton Capital. Recognized as one of the most prolific real estate investors on the West Coast, Marc has acquired over 800 buildings, totaling 39 million square feet in transactions valued at over $4 billion USD since 1978. Marc has founded or been an initial investor in numerous private and public companies including Westcore Properties, Westcore Europe, Westtown Estates, First Industrial, TriNET, California Republic Bank, Randall Cosmetics, Ritz Camera, UMI Industries, New Jersey NETS, Airport Development Partners, and numerous other companies. Prior activities have included serving as a board member of the San Diego Community Foundation Real Estate Board and the University of California at San Diego alumni, where he was a University Trustee and a graduate. An avid Martial Arts practitioner, he holds black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was the 2012 World Masters Jiu Jitsu gold medalist.
As Chief Executive Officer, Travis is responsible for the overall operations of the firm including acquisitions, financing, asset management and investor relations. Travis has nearly 20 years of real estate, private equity, investment and capital markets experience, having been instrumental in completing more than $3.2 billion of transactions across a variety of alternative investment platforms, including investment banking, private equity and real estate. Prior to becoming the CEO of Brixton, Travis was a Chief Investment Officer at Westcore Properties, a real estate investment firm which owns and operates nearly $2 billion of office and industrial real estate where he served as a member of both the Company’s Executive and Investment Committees. Travis also spent several years as a Managing Director with Silver Portal Capital, a boutique real estate investment bank, where he was involved in sourcing, marketing, structuring and closing more than $550 million of institutional equity joint ventures and direct equity investments. Previously, Travis was with Salomon Brothers, where he was involved in analyzing and executing financing and mergers and acquisitions across a wide-range of industries. Travis graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction honors in Political Science and International Relations from the University of California at San Diego. He also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As Chief Financial Officer, Corey Eagle oversees and directs all aspects of Brixton’s accounting, finance and treasury, tax, debt, and equity functions. This involves closely working with all team members during all life cycle phases of assets including acquisition, structuring, and tax planning; hold, management, and value-add phase; as well as disposition. Prior to joining Brixton, Corey spent 10 years working at Ernst & Young, first in their audit and assurance group where he had a real estate focus that included helping the country’s largest regional outlet mall company through its initial public offering. Corey later became a manager and afterward, a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s dispute resolution and consulting group where he assisted many real estate clients as well as worked on numerous international matters in Latin America and Western Europe. Corey graduated with a degree in accounting from The George Washington University in Washington D.C. and acquired his certified professional accountant (CPA) license in 2001 and his Certified Fraud Examiner license in 2008. He has been a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs.
As a Principal, Bob leads the Acquisition group at Brixton and is responsible for identifying, structuring and managing all real estate transactions at Brixton Capital. Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Bob was a founder of the Emri Group, a real estate investment company operating out of San Diego, California and Vancouver, British Columbia. Before forming the Emri Group, Bob was a principal partner at Professors Capital, a private real estate investment firm in San Diego, California. At Professors Capital, he was responsible for the acquisition, due diligence, financing, leasing, development, and disposition of over 100 separate real estate projects in the western United States. Bob holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
As Senior Vice President of Finance, Jonathan is responsible for financial structuring, modeling and accounting oversight as well as investor and lender relations and reporting. This includes working with investors and lenders on financing and structuring deals along with overseeing accounting and reporting for owned assets. Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Jonathan served as Chief Financial Officer and Partner of Jevan Capital and Ocean Realty Partners, which currently manages 2,000+ multi-family units. Prior to Jevan Capital, Jonathan was Chief Financial Officer for ColRich, a San Diego based real estate development and investment company focused in both residential and commercial investment. Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Finance from University of Toronto and holds CFA and CPA certifications.
Kristin is responsible for the oversight of all accounting functions including reporting. This includes cash management, ensuring the firm is compliant with accounting standards, and enhancing the accuracy of the company’s reported financials. Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Kristin spent seven years as a Senior Operations Analyst with Equus Realty Advisors (an Equastone company) and managed operations of the 9.3 million square foot portfolio valued in excess of $1 billion. In this position, she oversaw lease administration, maintained rent rolls, was responsible for the coordination of the budget, and executed in-depth analysis of the owned properties in addition to prospective acquisitions. During her time at Equus Realty Advisors, she was awarded both the Manager’s Choice and Most Valuable Award. Kristin graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
VP Asset Management
As Vice President of Asset Management, Deepa is responsible for the operations and strategic planning for Brixton’s investment portfolio. Her responsibilities include management oversight, business plan executions, capital planning, lease analysis, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting and the overall repositioning of assets. Prior to joining Brixton, Deepa spent 18 years working at Westfield (ASX: WFD) , one of the world’s largest regional mall operators. She started as a Regional Controller working her way up to Director of Finance, where she was responsible for a portfolio in excess of $2 billion. Prior to working at Westfield, Deepa was a Senior Accountant for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund, in which she was responsible for financial reporting for many properties, including commercial office buildings, industrial business parks and residential land development. Deepa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Accounting from the University of Manitoba and has been an active member of ICSC Management II since 2006.
As Vice President of Leasing, Eric is responsible for all aspects of the leasing process at Brixton Capital, including direct negotiations with tenants on new leases and renewals as well as overseeing third party real estate brokers and attorneys. Eric is also heavily involved in the processing of development entitlements and permits, coordinating efforts with project consultants, and managing project budgets and schedules. Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Eric worked for Regency Centers (NYSE: REG) as a Senior Leasing Agent for 16 years where he had tours of duty in Regency’s Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and San Diego Offices. Before joining Regency Centers, Eric was a Retail Leasing Broker at Grubb & Ellis in Portland, Oregon. During the course of his leasing career, Eric has completed over 1,000 transactions and has been involved in all types of leasing projects including ground up development, mixed-use projects, ground leases, anchor leasing, build -to-suit, and the repositioning of entire shopping centers. Eric is a graduate of the University of Redlands, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies. He is an active member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a dedicated volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way.
VP Construction Management & Development
As Vice President of Construction & Development, PJ oversees active construction projects and potential development opportunities. This includes management oversight, capital planning, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling and the overall repositioning of assets. Additionally, he works alongside the acquisitions team to collectively determine viable investment opportunities; and with the leasing team assessing requirements of new leases. Prior to joining Brixton, PJ was the Senior Project Manager for Dempsey Construction, Inc. He has an in-depth background and understanding of the building industry and construction details through his 13+ year tenure in the business. Before joining Dempsey Construction, PJ worked for the Lusardi Construction Co. and built an impressive resume of projects throughout the United States totaling over 1.2 million Square Feet of commercial improvements that amount to over $170 million of in-place work. PJ graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Technology – Construction Management and Minor in Business Administration.
